Montenegro is a country of extraordinary beauty. It is a maritime, but also an extremely mountainous country, making it one of the most attractive parts of Europe. The countries boasts a number of UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Skadar Lake (1977), Kotor and Risan (1979) and Durmitor National Park (1980).

Landscape
Montenegro offers a diverse landscape: The 12km long sandy beach of Ulcinj, the spectacular mountains surrounding the Bay of Kotor; Lake Skadar, the largest lake in the Balkans; the Tara river which flows within the second deepest canyon in the world after The Grand Canyon and three National Parks.

Tourism
The country has a government that is dedicated to develop its tourism. In the 1980’s 11 million tourists flocked to Montenegro each year, because of the war in the 1990’s this dropped to just 5 million, and is projected to be back at 11 million by 2008 making it one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world.
